Day 5 : 15th November 2007
Write down your feelings about the sight that you have soaked in today. How has your experience in China been different from what you are used to in Singapore?
Feel quite impressed about how well preserved the things are, even being able to withstand time, the toughest challenge of all. One phrase says it all, though the probability of seeing snow excites me, I wouldn’t disagree: There’s no place like home.
Reflect on your home-stay experience, what have you learnt these past few days?
I have learnt that by far my buddy and all his friends are very obedient and well behaved, most probably due to the strict upbringing I have observed. The parents of my buddy are all very accommodating and view healthy diet as a must.
What are you most nervous about? How have you overcome it?
Of course to stay in a complete stranger’s house is quite weird, as most of the things are unfamiliar to us, but my buddy’s accommodating parents made this place feel similar as much possible as my home. The parents have been very nice and tried to let in to me as much as possible. But still, like Howard misses “BILL” today, I miss my home.
